Picked up a Toyota RAV4 in Helsinki and drove straight to Porvoo, then up to Lahti for a week. The vehicle had studded tyres fitted and handled the February ice perfectly. Documentation was clear, the local company staff explained everything about winter driving, and the return process at HEL took five minutes. Cross-border permission for Sweden was already arranged as requested.
Booked a Skoda Octavia estate in Tampere for a nine-day loop through central Finland. We drove to Jyvaskyla, then Kuopio, and back via Pori. Fuel stations were easy to find, the car was spotless, and we paid the balance with a debit card at pickup. The winter tyre charge was mentioned upfront in the voucher.
