4Drive Finland is a booking platform for vehicle rentals throughout Finland. We work with local rental companies in major cities and regional hubs, handling reservations and payment processing so you can secure a vehicle before arrival. Each rental is fulfilled by an independent company at your chosen location, and you sign the rental agreement directly with them when you collect the keys.
Our service covers compact hatchbacks for city trips, estate cars for family tours, and SUVs for gravel roads leading to national parks. Customers book online, receive a voucher with collection details, and pick up the vehicle at the arranged time. The rental company's contact information appears in your voucher, and any questions during the rental period go straight to them.
The booking process starts with a search by location and dates. You compare available vehicles, see what extras are included, and select the one that fits your route. At checkout you pay a booking advance by card - we do not accept cash online. The remaining balance is due when you collect the vehicle, and the accepted payment methods for that balance are listed during booking and confirmed in your voucher.
Once payment is confirmed, you receive a voucher by email. This document contains the rental company's name, their address or meeting point, opening hours, and a booking reference. Some companies operate a counter at the airport terminal, others use a nearby lot, and a few offer delivery to hotels in the city centre.
When you arrive, present the voucher and your driving licence. The rental company inspects the vehicle with you, notes any existing marks in the agreement, and hands over the keys. At the end of the rental you return the vehicle to the same location, and the company checks fuel level and condition before closing the contract.
We arrange rentals in eight Finnish cities. Helsinki and Helsinki-Vantaa Airport see the highest volume, serving both short city breaks and longer tours north toward Lapland or east to the lake district. Tampere handles bookings for travellers heading west or exploring the central lake region around Pyhajrvi and Nasijarvi.
Oulu is the gateway to the far north, with routes to Rovaniemi and the Arctic Circle. Jyvaskyla sits halfway between Helsinki and Oulu, making it a convenient stopover on the E75 corridor. Pori on the west coast attracts summer visitors to the Yyteri beach and the Satakunta region.
Joensuu in North Karelia links to the Russian border crossings and Koli National Park. Vaasa serves the Ostrobothnia coast and ferry connections to Sweden. Kokkola covers the northern Gulf of Bothnia shoreline. Each city has at least one local partner company that stores vehicles and manages handovers.
Most rental companies in Finland require a security deposit - a temporary hold on your credit card that covers the excess in case of damage. We offer a selection of vehicles where the rental company has waived this deposit requirement. You still have an excess listed in your agreement, meaning you remain liable up to that amount if the vehicle is damaged, but no funds are blocked on your card at pick-up.
This option suits travellers who prefer not to tie up credit card limits or who use debit cards with lower available balances. The rental company inspects the vehicle with you before and after, recording the condition in the signed agreement. Any damage discovered at return is assessed against the terms in your contract, independent of the deposit arrangement.
Zero-deposit vehicles are subject to availability and may not be offered in every class or at every location. The booking page shows clearly whether a deposit is required, and the voucher repeats this information so there are no surprises at the counter.
